US Marine Raiders
The Marine Raiders came in to existence from the desire to create a force that could strike back at the Japanese forces while the United States was preparing its forces for the pacific campaign, modelled on the British commando concept, its initial formation was not universally popular as the Marines were considered an elite force so it didn’t need elite units within it. Its biggest backer however was President Roosevelt and the Raiders were formed in 1942.
Our figure sets allow you to build up a raiders raiding force and our rifle squad set is an example of the powerful composition that the raiders developed based around three, three man fire teams.
The Marines Raiders made full use of friendly inhabitants of the Pacific island in their battles with the Japanese as trackers, guides and porters. They were also expertly supported many colonial island watchers.
